A big thank you to our nine supporters who “took the plunge” over the bank holiday weekend and abseiled 120 ft down Harlow Water Tower, raising around £3000 for CAFOD.
Those taking part included Nakesh and Falguni from Ilford Ursuline High School and Luke from St Thomas More, Westcliff, alongside Mark (Colchester), Lizzie and Jennie (Aveley), Angela (Cambridge) and Jane (Harlow).
They were joined by Diocesan Manager Joanna Jarvis who, after encouraging supporters to take part for several years, decided to face up to her fear of heights and lowered herself over the edge to great encouragement from the watching crowd.
