Young Leaders weekend – Friday evening

CAFOD KID

We arrived at walsingham house to a warm welcome. When we arrived we didn’t really know each other, but we all connected with each other. We then went to our rooms to unpack and settle down, and returned to the ark to introduce ourselves. It was a nice way to get to know each other, we learned interesting facts about the people we’d be working with. We sat in a circle and brainstormed what we knew about CAFOD. After that we were split into groups and created a presentation or drama about CAFOD. We created CAFOD kid, and we learned what others thought about the issues around the world. After that we had free time to mingle with other people we hadn’t had the chance to speak to.

Life is not a playstation game

Finally we ended the night with prayer, but it wasn’t exactly what we were expecting, two of the housemates of walsingham house had a disagreement, we didn’t realise it was planned and connected to the reading Jon read to us about how we have to talk to each other to sort out an argument. Finally we watched a video of how we shouldn’t be scared to be ourself and make the first move, we then prayed to god about the things that worried us. It’s been a wonderful evening, and we’re all excited that tomorrow we will join the wave in london. Louise
