Volunteers Cathy Owen-Reilly, John Birbeck and Andrew Gifford visited All Saints in Dagenham earlier this week to run a Citizenship session with Year 7.
Activities included looking at the gap between rich and poor countries, how resources are divided around the world and taking part in the campaign action, Act on Poverty.
The world’s poorest people are our neighbours. Act on Poverty by:
– pushing for a fair climate change deal at the UN
– honouring your commitment to spend 0.7 per cent of national income on aid by 2013
– ensuring businesses are accountable to people in poor countries affected by their operations.
