A “truly amazing” evening

“Truly amazing” was just one of the comments heard as people left the Brentwood Theatre after last night’s performance of “The Journey” by Meditation.

Over 60 people attended the concert from around the Diocese, including Walthamstow, Wanstead, Shoebury, Upminster, Romford, Loughton, Elm Park, Newbury Park, Basildon and of course Brentwood.

Not really knowing what a Christian folk band was going to sound like, Stuart, who attended the concert last night, said “to hear the deliverance of the scriptures in a musical setting was great. I was very surprised at the way it all transposed to a theatre rather than a church setting. I particularly enjoyed hearing the more familiar tunes with a different slant, especially the acoustic set. The addition of bongo’s and bass guitar, together with the theatre’s lighting effects, only added to the experience. A wonderful evening.”

All proceeds from the performance will be donated to CAFOD and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of Meditation – Michael Wigley, Pat and Charlotte Ezra, Donatella Bartin, Thom Friedlein, Richard and Renate Thompson and Paul de Silva – for their generosity.

Thank you also to Nick Ezra for sharing his photos of the evening and to the staff of Brentwood Theatre for their help not only on the evening but in the lead up to the performance.
