Look who is jumping for CAFOD!

Kate with her feet firmly on the ground

We have a great team of schools volunteers, and although it isn’t part of their job description (yet), new schools volunteer Kate Cook, from Chelmsford, is taking part in this year’s Harlow 120 ft abseil. She writes:

“Hi, I’m taking part in the Harlow water tower abseil on 01/05/2011. (Ok, so I have been “roped” in to hang off a long piece of, I’m hoping, substantial, string from the water tower rather alarmingly but there it is……. I’ve said I’ll do it now!!!)

It’s for a fabby cause, that which is CAFOD, who tirelessly work to improve lives for people in over 40 countries all over the world. These people, who through poverty, injustice and/or unfair regimes within their countries or throughout the world find themselves in very difficult situations, just need that helping hand which CAFOD and their partners provide, to enable them to HELP THEMSELVES

It’s easy to donate online with a credit or debit card – just go to my JustGiving page:

JustGiving sends your donation straight to Catholic Agency For Overseas Development and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you’re a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Catholic Agency For Overseas Development.”

We would also like to wish good luck to all Team CAFOD abseilers, including: Patrick Corcoran, Shoeburyness, Peter Silvester, Chingford, Anzal Javaid, Ilford Ursuline High School, Susan Matthews, Wanstead and Brother Stephen from St Philips Priory, Chelmsford. See you all on Sunday 1st May.
