Our Lady of Compassion, Saffron Walden – Aiofe and Olivia (both aged 6) raise some dough!

Parish volunteer, Jan Powell writes:

“I am writing to tell you about the fundraising effort of two children in our parish (Our Lady of Compassion, Saffron Walden) who held a table top sale to raise money for CAFOD. On Saturday 10th March Aiofe and Olivia who are both six years old and attend St. Thomas More School, had a stall selling homemade cakes, bread, toys, clothes and books. They raised £86.16 and I am attaching a photo that was taken on the day. I hope you can put the girls in the newsletter as they are very excited at the possibility of being in print!

In the parish we are collecting in the green money boxes last weekend and this weekend so that the money will qualify for the Aid Match initiative. The Fast Day collection amounted to £738.92 which with the Aid Match is also a good amount for our relatively small parish. The Thirst for change message really struck home.”

Thank you Aiofe, Olivia, Jan and all the parishioners at Our Lady of Compassion!
